Employee Benefits Compliance Specialist needed for a growing insurance agency!
While this client prefers someone in office 2-3 days a week, they are open to someone in the Southern California area who will come in 1-2x a month for team and client meetings.
This position would be an excellent fit for a strong Employee Benefits Account Manager or Human Resources professional who specialized in multi-state Benefits Compliance including ERISA, ACA, CAA, HIPAA, COBRA, Section 125, Form 5500 preparation and more! In this role, you will collaborate with internal departments including the Benefits Team, Legal Counsel, and directly with the clients to ensure that benefit and HR compliance is upheld according to multi-state regulations.
HOURS: Mon-Fri, 9:00AM-5:30PM
DURATION: Direct Hire
WORKSITE: Hybrid with 2-3 days in office per week preferred, depending on experience, client may be open to someone in office 1-2x a month but you MUST live in Southern California.
PAY: $75,000 - $95,000 per year (non-exempt), depending on experience.

The Employee Benefits Compliance Specialist daily duties include, but are not limited to:
Staying informed and updating relevant parties with the latest regulatory changes
Oversee Form 5500 filing process for the clients – collect and analyzing necessary data, ensure accuracy of completed forms, maintain tracking of client compliance, and coordinating with vendors to submit filing information
Advise internal team and clients on regulations regarding benefits and HR, including Section 125, ERISA, Form 5500, 1095-C reporting, ACA, COBRA, CAA, and HIPAA regulations to maintain compliance for all states clients are located
Create, update and revise Section 125, benefit plan, benefit compliance, and consulting service/business associate agreement documents
Develop and implement comprehensive compliance services including compliance audit protocols for current and future clients, and guidance materials tailored to each client’s needs
Collaborate with multiple departments ensuring timely and accurate communication to best serve clients
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following requirements:
California Life & Health Insurance Licenses
3+ years in Employee Benefits or HR specializing in Benefit compliance for multiple states
High school diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration is a plus!
Intermediate – Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
Proven in-depth knowledge of Employee Benefit regulations including ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and COBRA
