DIVISION OVERVIEW
The Housing Assistance Division (HAD) of the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) Is responsible for the administration of the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. The LACDA administers over 26,000 Housing Choice Vouchers for the County of Los Angeles and other targeted and grant-funded rental subsidy programs. The Housing Assistance Division partners with 10,000 landlords, helping eligible families afford safe, decent, high-quality rental housing. This is a fast-paced work environment with a high volume of phone calls and data entry projects.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Division currently has seven (7) Office Assistant positions available in our Alhambra and Palmdale offices. The Office Assistant positions will work under the direct or general guidance of an Assistant Manager and will provide clerical support in all areas of the Division. The ideal candidates must be able to multi-task and perform well while maintaining a calm, courteous, professional demeanor in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.

Work independently with minimal supervision.
Posses’ strong judgement and decision-making skills.
Facilitate lobby inquiries from program participants, the public, and property owners.
Answer, screen, route a high volume of telephone calls and messages to appropriate staff.
Prepare documents for mailing, sort and deliver the mail.
Accurately input pertinent program participant information into the Yardi system.
Accurately image program participant documents into the Laserfiche System.
Perform other related clerical duties.
The candidate must be computer literate, experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, to operate office equipment including the Division's document imaging system. The candidate must maintain a high standard of customer service to effectively represent the Los Angeles County Development Authority and its programs and perform other related clerical duties as assigned. Regular attendance is an essential job function.
Qualifications
A combination of education and/or work experience equivalent to a high school diploma or general education degree and two (2) years minimum of experience performing various clerical tasks.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Work experience with low-income/diverse populations
Working knowledge of Laserfiche imaging software or the operations, services, and activities of a similar imaging software.
Working knowledge of YARDI rental subsidy software or similar software.
Bilingual in Spanish

Salary compensation is dependent on qualifications (experience, education, skills, and abilities). Initial salary placement is generally made at the beginning to mid-point of the posted range. New hires are not eligible to start at the maximum of the posted range.
