Job Summary: | The Director of Technology Support is a member of the IT Leadership Team directing the Enterprise Information Technology Support Department. This position reports to the Chief Information Officer and is responsible for the strategic planning and daily operations of the Enterprise Information Technology Support Department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, enterprise help desk operations, enterprise executive and desk-side support, IT-managed student computer labs, ID card creation and distribution, software distribution, and content of the knowledge base used by OSU for supported applications and operations. Effective communication and collaboration with the OSU/A&M community and external constituents are essential. Periodically, this position requires work after normal working hours and continual availability by cellular device. Compensation for the cellular device is included in the salary. The position will perform repetitive use of the keyboard and must have the ability to lift 25 lbs. |

Position Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Combined five years of supervisory and information technology experience. In addition to the knowledge required to perform the major responsibilities, a successful individual will possess the ability to develop and deliver presentations to technical and non-technical audiences; must exhibit the ability to handle difficult situations; must operate with professional standards of confidentiality, honesty, and commitment.
Communication skills - Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with clear, grammatically correct English. Requires interaction with supervisors, colleagues, students, using tact, discretion, and independent judgement. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information System, computer Engineering, or related area. Knowledge of and experience with current OSU operating systems, policies, procedures and processes. |
