Section Manager Machining - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Barberton, OH
Responsibilities Include:
Directs, defines responsibilities, provides support, and sets performance standards for:

Superintendents and their reporting Front Line Managers supporting the areas and equipment that machine heavy plant components.

New equipment procurement and equipment upgrades and associated personnel (including vendors).
-
Implementation of improved machining processes.
Oversees technical and assigned teams that support machining.
Develops and implements improvement plans that improve overall equipment effectiveness and increase throughput in the machine shops.
Responsible for utilizing lean techniques to eliminate waste.
Establishes policy for Operations Department process such as lifting and handling and pre-work activities.
Works closely with internal and external customer organizations to ensure that requirements are fully met when performing the functions outlined above.
Serves as a key interface between the Operations Department, other NOG-Barberton Departments, and the Customer.
Oversees key department activities in support of audits, assessments, and technical evaluations.
Responsible for the Safety and Quality culture of designated personnel.
Manages the department’s execution of schedule and cost targets.
Ensures that personnel are appropriately assigned and trained.

Job Requirements:

BWXT Management/Supervision experience.
-
Prior experience in machining or fabricating heavy plant components.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office, SAP, and analysis tools such as PowerBI.

Experience in applying lean concepts to machine shop operations.
