Tarkett is seeking an experienced and strategic Shipping Supervisor (Nights) to join our growing team in our Chagrin Falls Manufacturing Plant.
We are looking for a Shipping Supervisor who will effectively lead associates to ensure satisfaction of customer expectations, safety and production requirements while executing the Tarkett strategy and embracing Tarkett’s vision, mission, and objectives. The Supervisor will proactively lead, support, train, coach and direct his or her assigned work team to execute operational plans. This role will drive continuous improvement through World Class Manufacturing (WCM) while sustaining effective associate relationships. The Shipping Supervisor will properly maintain records, reports, and data collection in a timely and complete manner. This position will work on a 4 on 4 off schedule.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Driving daily input and output of materials and finished goods.
- Defining problems, collecting qualitative and quantitative data to establish facts – taking decisive action
- Actively monitoring, evaluating, and reporting performance daily in Shipping/Receiving, Continuous Shipping and Utilities.
- Taking full ownership of shift and performance reporting management
- Evaluating and coordinating training needs and initiatives of team to drive continuous improvement
- Working closely with all departments to help improve and document processes and equipment operation
- Communicate daily with warehouse, departments within Chagrin Falls and the Distribution Center.
- Maintain proper raw material inventory levels at plant level and at WH2.
- Assist in month-end inventory and cycle counts when requested
- Develop, maintain, and approve SOP’s and OPL’s for processes performed within the shipping department.
- Providing coaching and guidance as required, as well as executing consistent documentation within the corrective action process
- Improving record procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness and ISO requirements
- Ensure compliance to OSHA, Safety and Environmental
- Learning, understanding, and communicating compliance issues related to Company guidelines and union contract
- Participating on projects and process improvements in an effort to drive change and improve results
- Lead all components of safety and environmental programs to achieve and maintain zero incidents and injuries.
- Demonstrating a hands-on leadership approach to identifying, resolving and communicating resolution of issues across the plant
- Coaching, developing, and training employees
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION DESIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 – 5 years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role
- Ability to work four (4) 12-hour shifts (4 on 4 off schedule) night shifts
- Computer proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, ADP / SAP is a plus
- Analyze and interpret product specifications, production schedules, quality documentation, and other process / performance documentation in English
- Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and interact with employees, managers, and peers
