Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern (Ports & Marine) to be based in New Orleans, LA. As an Intern you will be housed in the Ports & Marine group, and work as part of project teams, on engineering scheme solutions from initial concept through to detailed design. This is a diverse role that will involve your contribution. You will be joining of a global team of 500+ maritime specialists who support on a wide range of maritime developments including container terminals, LNG facilities, waterfront developments, cruise and ferry terminals, marinas and harbors as well as coastal schemes such as beach development and coastal protection schemes.

This position is expected to begin in June or July 2024.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Candidate must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
Must have completed two years of qualified study
Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Basic knowledge of CADD and industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation)
Strong organizational, technical and communication skills.
Ability to work independently or within a team environment.

Additional Information

Relocation is not available for this position
The selected candidate will be subjected to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Registration Screening (MVR).
