PURPOSE OF JOB: The Executive Director of Heart and Vascular is responsible for overseeing the clinical administration of the services, programs, resources and activities for the Heart, Vascular and Interventional Radiology Service lines in accordance with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic plan. The role provides clinical leadership and administrative direction for the goal development, process implementation, evaluation, and operational management of: Cath Lab, EP lab, Vascular, CVOR, Interventional Radiology, Heart Center APPs, Heart Center Office, Cardiovascular Quality, Perfusion, Cardiac Rehab, Cardiac Services, Cardio-oncology, Heart Failure, Echocardiography and Structural Heart. The Executive Director will be responsible for strategic growth and direction of the heart and vascular service line.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Departmental Budget: As a member of Doylestown Health's leadership team who is responsible for budget, this position will adhere to the Health System's budget process to include planning, facilitating communication and coordination across the Doylestown Health System. As well as allocation of resources, controlling expenses and will be accountable for all budget variances. Accountable for financial performance, quality improvements and continuous improvement to meet targeted medical, clinical and operating outcomes. (15%)
Associate Retention: As a member of Doylestown Health's leadership team, this position will act with integrity and emotional intelligence. The way a leader treats their Associates can have a profound impact on Associate's loyalty and retention. Plans, organizes, directs, controls and is responsible for the human, financial, and material resources of the Heart and Vascular Service Line in order to provide optimal care to those patients served by the Hospital. Possess and utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills with Senior Administration, other department directors, board members, physicians, associates, patients and all other customers both internal and external employing problem solving expertise whenever necessary.
Generate, develop and monitor in conjunction with departmental managers yearly operating and capital budgets for all departments within the cardiac product line. Accept and promote financial responsibility for the financial health of the cardiac program.
Participates and assist with the development and implementation of business, marketing and operating plans for the identified services to business, community, physicians and Associates.
Lead and work closely with managers, cardiovascular physician leaders and administration to identify, inform, implement and operationalize new emerging technologies within the heart and vascular service
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master's Degree in Health Services Administratioin, Business or related field preferred. Certification in Heart and Vacscular Perfusion
Experience: Six (6) or more years of progressive health care management experience, preferably in hospitals
Other Skills: Experience with physician management.
