Responsible for assisting in the materials management of the assigned department. Coordinates purchasing, shipping, restocking, distribution, receiving and inventory control of materials. Responsible for safe and proper storage of materials, process intermediates, products, and general manufacturing supplies.
Include, but are not limited to:
Job Function 01: Responsible for maintaining the process of OR/SPD ordering, distributing, inventorying of supplies/equipment, stocking and exchanging of specialties carts/boxes after each use within the appropriate time frame.
Job Function 02: Develops and maintains a working knowledge of materials management inventory systems to ensure that these are best utilized to fit the needs of the department. In addition, monitors supply areas for compliance to regulatory agencies.
Job Function 03: Participates in regular meetings with the manager of the departments to ensure that supply operations are exceeding department expectations. Actively identifies areas of opportunity to improve supply operations, cost savings, par level management, standardization etc.
Job Function 04: Problem-solves supply and distribution logistical issues in collaboration with teams through the organization by evaluating supply and distribution methods and recommend cost effective solutions based on needs and capabilities.
Job Function 05: Actively participates in assigned committee meetings fielding questions regarding cost, quality and other materials related issues.
Job Function 06: Works collaboratively with all leadership, staff, and physicians.
Job Function 07: Demonstrates ability to handle changing priorities that may arise. Pays attention to details of job and maintains an organized system for record keeping and workflow. Maintains accountability for follow up on job functions that are time sensitive such as issuing of purchase requisitions and reviewing supply carts for expired items.
Job Function 08: Works in a self-directed manner, accurately communicating pertinent information to appropriate personnel. Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Job Function 09: Assesses and stocks Crash Cart after use assuring sterility dates have not expired. Works with SPD leadership to maintain Par Level of Crash Cart supplies and all other supplies.
Job Function 10: Works collaboratively with all Departments, Clinical Engineering, Nursing Units, Sterile Processing Team Members, and leadership. Ensure the distribution of items for various clinic department and any other task at the distribution window.
Job function 11: Works collaboratively with the case cart staff in answering the phone, restocking of OR returns to the shelves in a timely manner and any other duties required.
Job function 12: Use of computer applications, understands and properly utilizes all inventory applications to document work completed. Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Job function 13: Personal/ Professional growth will be maintained through AHS OD classes, in-service education, conferences, and literature.
Other tasks which may be required: assignments that meet the needs of the department.
