We have an outstanding Contract position for aBuyerto join a leading Company located in the Vista, CAsurrounding area.
Responsible for the procurement of goods and services.
Responsibilities include the development and negotiation of favorable prices, terms, schedules, and other provisions of purchase orders and acquisition contracts, as well as ensuring consistency with client requirements and procurement policies/procedures.
It also includes purchase order administration/file maintenance, closeout for all procurement-related activities, and supplier-customer management.
At higher levels in this family, responsibilities may include creating complex solicitations, supporting proposals, conducting price and cost analysis, negotiating price/cost and price/cost-related terms and other subcontract provisions.
Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determine the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
Reviews proposals and selects or recommends suppliers based on gathered information.
Improvements to procurement processes and procedures may also be recommended.
Procures goods and commercial services and/or administers purchase orders of low dollar value, risk, and complexity.
Typically commitments are for routine orders which may not require review. Typically works on or places orders with a value up to $25,000. May work on higher value orders with oversight from more senior level staff.
Works on assignments that are of low to moderate complexity.
Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
Failure to achieve desired results may cause delays in schedules and have a cost impact.
Interacts daily with supervisor, functional peer groups, and internal customers.
Interaction normally involves exchange or presentation of factual information.
Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instruction on progressively more complex non-routine assignments.
Uses developing professional concepts to solve a variety of problems.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
High School or equivalent experience. Associates degree preferred.
Requires some knowledge and experience and ability to perform routine job requirements. Choice of action requires some training and experience.
Basic knowledge of business principles in areas such as supply chain management, purchasing, business and contracts law, finance, accounting and standard operating procedures.
