| Primary Purpose | Responsible for physical appearance of University grounds by mowing, raking, planting, fertilizing, trimming, or watering. Uses mowers, rakes, or other hand and power tools typically used in gardening. |
| Essential Functions | - Mows, trims, edges and sweeps university lawns and grounds.
- Waters fields and grounds as directed.
- Performs tree and shrub maintenance to include planting, trimming and fertilizing.
- Ensures proper care of equipment, tools and supplies.
- Collects trash and removes in appropriate containers.
- Performs minor repair of equipment.
- Assists with set-up and tear-down of outdoor stages, tarps, tables and chairs.
- Identifies maintenance or repair need and reports to appropriate personnel.
- Assists in special construction projects as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

| Preferred Qualifications | - High School Diploma.
- Working knowledge of lawn maintenance, and of lawn maintenance equipment use and repair.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diversity backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

| Hiring Range | $20.17 per hour. Union guidelines, non-exempt. |
