This position will be site based at our San Jose, CA office within the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division.

The Product Application Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert for the Clinical Research and Toxicology segment for Life Sciences Marketing. They will apply scientific expertise and market research to identify key application needs and market development trends and opportunities for overall market growth while also enabling customers to accelerate their science in clinical research, biomarkers, targeted protein analysis, genetic biochemistry and toxicology.
A successful candidate will be a highly motivated and diligent individual who is passionate about science, mass spectrometry, and improving overall human health. This individual will have superb interpersonal and communication skills relevant to the role as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of peers, commercial sales, and marketing. Ultimately, the candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, highly dynamic and exciting environment that is on the cutting edge of mass spectrometry technology.
A Day in the Life
- Develop mass spectrometry based (LC-MS/MS) methods/workflow for clinical research or toxicology applications.
- Design and complete experiments to support New Product Introduction.
- Support collaborations with key opinion leaders and leverage data/results for marketing collateral.
- Publish technical/application notes, articles, and marketing collateral.
- Present methods/workflows at conferences and meetings.
- Train sales and customers on our workflow and product propositioning.
- Interact with global commercial teams for sales support.
Keys to Success
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Science (chemistry, biology, or related field) with 5+ years of experience is required or MS/Ph.D degree in Science (chemistry, biology or related subject area) with proven experience.
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on liquid chromatography or mass spectrometry experience.
- Expertise in small and/or large molecules method and applications development.
- Experience in Proteomics preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sample preparation for complex matrices.
- Familiarity with clinical research and toxicology analytical industries.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills required
- Skill to pick up new technologies quickly and troubleshoot independently
- Ability to develop credibility and network with proven and positive professional relationships
- Ability to work within a highly matrixed organization with cross functional teams is essential
- Up to 25% of domestic and international travel

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $123,800.00–$165,050.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
