Job Abstract

Under administrative direction, manages the construction of Cleveland Public Power (CPP) electric transmission and distribution lines, cables, and equipment. Supervises general line, cable, underground, and shop work. Inspects and evaluates work performed by crews. Coordinates and schedules resources. Operates line construction equipment as required. Oversees the activities of Assistant Superintendents. Determines methods, materials, and equipment required for construction. Assists with maintaining compliance with applicable NERC and PJM requirements. Prepares required reports and performs other job-related duties as required.

High School Diploma or GED is required. Seven years of full-time paid experience within electric utility line construction, maintenance, or trouble operations with at least three of those years in trouble operations, is required. A valid State of Ohio is required. A Class “A” or “B” Commercial Driver’s License is preferred. Must be a journeyman high tension line electrical worker and have knowledge of general line construction, electrical safety, circuit loads, and limitations. Must be computer literate and able to physically respond to trouble calls within the CPP service area on a 24-hour basis.

• Reports directly to, Assistant Commissioner and Commissioner of CPP.
