The Meat Order Readiness Associate is responsible for the packing and labeling of meat.
Responsibilities and Working Conditions:
- Processing (Slicing packing + labeling)
- QA raw and finished materials
- Safe Food Practices specific to department
- Picking food products and packing in boats, totes and boxes
- Scanning labels on packages, loading packaging machines with boats, and labeling packages with printed labels
- Spottingcheck packages emerging from machinery for correct labeling
- Assisting in shut down procedures
- Utilize equipment when necessary to perform job duties
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- In a workday: standing/walking 6-12 hours or more
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals, loud noises, flashing lights
- Constant exposure to temperatures: <-10 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators)
- Must be able to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
- Must be able to start overnight or early morning hours
- Comfortable and able to work a 6-12-hour shift (hours per day are based on business need)
- Experience in a related field is a plus
- Ability to apply knowledge of processes involved, production methods, and products to the nuances of everyday operation
- Ability to clearly communicate in English. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
