Senior Director - Continuous Improvement
Job Summary
The Senior Director, Continuous Improvement will lead a cross functional team at AmeriGas through continuous improvement methods that support operations in delivering better performance in safety, quality, delivery, operational execution, and cost effectiveness. The Senior Director, Continuous Improvement will utilize data analytics, observations, and core lean methodologies to understand and determine the root cause of opportunities and create solutions for improvement that directly enhance operational performance. Evaluates effectiveness of current plans, procedures, and initiatives and develops transformation plans for improvement and implementation. Ensures processes and updates are in place to highlight and track overall improvement and achievement of process and performance transformation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develops and implements continuous improvement philosophy, strategy, and standards that enhance meeting business metrics and expectations.
Identify and implement process and technology changes that are necessary to continuously improve the efficiency (productivity), service, safety, and cost of operations.
Engages with leaders in the organization to understand current business performance against targets and creates solutions for improvement.
Leads facilitation and execution of lean methodologies (A3 charter ideation/creation, pre-work identifications and completion, delivery of results, follow up and sustainment of actions) to improve operational performance.
Leverages change management strategies to gain acceptance and adoption of overall strategies and new initiatives.
Establishes performance metrics and reliability measurements related to operational execution, safety, quality, delivery, and fleet to monitor performance against transformation plans and execution.
Responsible for driving continuous cost and productivity improvements and for ensuring the best return on capital.
Knowledge and Experience
Experience in leading cost-effective transformations in large organizations.
Demonstrated expertise in building effective relationships cross functionally at all levels of the organization and implementing solutions that are cost effective and improve performance and efficiencies.
Proven track record of applying lean and continuous improvement methodologies from ideation to sustained results.
Cross functional experiences (Operations, Sales, Supply Chain) a plus.
Required Competencies/Characteristics

Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills – including strong persuasion & influence skills.
Demonstrated business/financial acumen.

Education Required
College Graduate BS in business related major.
Advanced degree a plus.
15 years of project management, operational leadership, or similar with at least 5 years leading teams.
Working Conditions
Office environment. Moderate travel required.
