The Billing Compliance Specialist reports directly to the Billing Supervisor and ensures that we remain complaint with all contract regulations as it relates to billing operations. Qualified candidate must be flexible, highly committed to exceptional quality and accuracy, high level customer service, teamwork, and supporting department goals in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The BCS is responsible for remaining up to date on current contractual obligations, maintaining a high level of knowledge of all rules and regulations relative to the billing of our services and ancillary fees. The BCS conducts all activities in a professional manner, with accuracy and reliability in handling accounts and documents.
Job Description
Must be familiar with all billing functions, processes to identify revenue opportunities and satisfactorily resolve customer and company requirements.
Requires exceptional understanding of our customer community contract benefits, city ordinances and billing database.
Process work orders to bill customers for ancillary fees resulting from driver exception activity and provide rules and regulations on excess debris, overweight, contamination, and other.
Conduct billing research assists with billing projects such as parcel audits and data validation to ensure accurate billing.
Analyze and research data to identify what needs to be accomplished for customers and root cause analysis.
Proactively partners with internal departments to resolve account challenges.
Requires impeccable documentation skills keeping accurate notes in database system.
Actively participates in educational opportunities, attends mandatory training to enhance contract, system and equipment knowledge.
Meets or exceeds service quality and productivity goals set for the position.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in customer service, billing or analytical functions
High School Diploma/GED.
Strong multitasking abilities and high detail is required.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
Confident critical thinker with intuitive problem solving skills
Customer focused and exceptional listening abilities.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software.
Ability to effectively make quick sound decisions.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual English / Spanish
Knowledgeable in Softpak system
Work experience in the waste or transportation industry
