Essential Functions of the Job:

• Conduct energy testing on new homes, including blower door tests, duct leakage tests, and other diagnostic tests to measure energy efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
• Perform site inspections to ensure that construction meets building codes and energy efficiency standards.
• Work closely with builders, contractors, and other stakeholders to communicate findings and provide recommendations for improving energy efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of all testing and inspection activities.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes related to energy efficiency and sustainability.

• High School Graduate/GED
• Candidates must be in good physical condition to carry up to 50/lbs. of equipment, climb ladders, and hoist themselves up into attic spaces or crawl spaces.
• Candidate must have a valid driver's license, have reliable transportation, vehicle insurance, and be prepared to drive a radius of up to 100 miles.
  • A fuel card for business related travel and auto allowance will be provided.
• As an employee, the candidate must have good attendance as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Violation of any of these requirements and/or employee handbook policies will result in disciplinary action and up to termination.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two (2) years of construction experience and/or one (1) year of field experience supported with degree in related field of study.
• ICC Residential Certifications preferred.
• HERS- Rater Certification preferred or obtained within 3 months of hire.
• ENERGY STAR for Homes preferred or obtained within 3 months of hire.
• HVAC installation or technical experience preferred.
• Experience in green building programs such as LEED, Build-it-Green, Energy Star would be preferable.
• Past quality control/inspection experience beneficial.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must have solid communication skills and be able to convey direction and leadership while enforcing Code and Energy Code to project Superintendents and their trades. Good attitude and personality are a must.
• Basic Computer skills and ability to take notes and photos on an iPad.
• Ability to analyze data and problem solve.
• Attention to detail and strong reporting/documentation habits.
• Willingness to work in physically demanding environment and commitment to job completion.
