Position Summary
Perform as a ‘conduit’ between both the Maintenance and Materials sides of the house. Communicate daily with Leads, Supervisors, Managers, and Customers regarding parts status, off units, and other related material issues that may affect the timeliness of redelivering the aircraft. Driven by the pace of the aircraft, the Material Coordinator (MC) is an integral part of the work booth operations by quickly troubleshooting and tracking down parts and tools through EMX and its Point of Use (POU) system. Monitors due dates and arrival status of ordered parts, coordinating efforts with the distribution center, IPC, and Purchaser to expedite parts procurement as needed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

With direction from the Materials Customer Program Manager, the MC coordinates with skill groups and shifts to ensure smooth transition of pacing items requiring parts.

Liaison between FAS and the Customer for processing and approval of parts requiring expediting fees such as AOG or Priority.

Informs the immediate supervisor and/or the Project Manager of any materials related concerns which may affect the delivery of the aircraft.

Interfaces with customer representatives to maintain a continuous flow of information on aircraft parts status and coordinates off unit dispositions to be sent out for repair in a timely manner.

Monitors arrival status of ordered parts on a daily basis, coordinating with a designated Purchaser in order to expedite any parts procurement issues that are necessary.

In conjunction with Maintenance, the Material Coordinator shall processes POU part and tool requests for production.

Acts as a ‘Runner’ for HOT parts related to time sensitive maintenance tasks.

Works closely with the DC and Satellite Stockroom employees.

Notifies the designated Purchaser and shipping of all required dates for parts sent out for outside overhaul or repair.

Coordinate with the customer the immediate return of all off units removed during maintenance providing the shipping department with all the pertinent information.

Verifies that outside services performed on the aircraft have been completed and received in the computer system at the end of the check in order to ensure proper billing.

Works closely with the Project Manager as tasks are closed to disposition all unused, left over parts including requesting an RMA.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Flightstar’s inventory management and maintenance operating system (AMROS) to include the following platforms: Hand held device, Kiosks, Web and Tablet as well as various customer portals.
