Job Description
The NA Senior Macro Trader is responsible for trading across various asset classes, including Fixed Income and FX cash and derivative instruments, with a particular focus on Emerging Markets. This person will serve as the main trading point of contact for the NY-based Fixed Income investment teams and execute approved trading strategies by leveraging current technologies and best practices across relevant markets. This role will collaborate with investment teams to provide insights that complement investment processes, develop strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and continually expand knowledge of trading strategies and market structure dynamics. Additionally, help mentor and develop colleagues to enhance their technical skillsets.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Negotiate and execute trades across Fixed Income and Currency markets, with an acute focus on EM, in both cash and derivative instruments. Assist PMs with structuring trades and deploy a variety of trading strategies and technologies as authorized by fund managers.
- Ensure that all trading executions adhere to Invesco’s policies and procedures, prioritizing the singular objective of achieving optimal outcomes for our clients.
- Offer consultative solutions to fund managers, providing insights into idea generation, market dynamics, exposure management, instrument usage, liquidity access, and other execution-oriented tasks across all traded asset classes.
- Establish and foster highly efficient brokerage trading relationships, facilitating seamless execution across multiple markets and asset types.
- Maintain constant awareness of technological advancements, regulatory changes, and market developments to ensure that our execution process remains highly valued-added, compliant, and reflective of industry best practices.
- Assist trading leadership in the development of new trading talent, providing mentorship and guidance as needed.
- Attend meetings with brokers and other industry representatives, some of which may occur outside normal business hours, to cultivate and maintain appropriate industry contacts and relationships.
- Undertake various projects as assigned by senior trading staff, contributing to the ongoing improvement and innovation of trading operations.
Work Experience / Knowledge:
- Extensive financial markets trading experience (15 years +) at an investment management company or broker/dealer.
- Comprehensive understanding of Fixed Income and Currency markets, and OTC and exchanged traded derivative products across Global macro markets.
- Proficient in utilizing trading technologies and market venues for efficient transaction execution, coupled with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
The salary range for this position in New York City is $150,000 - $200,000 / year. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience and location.
