If you are a Field Service Engineer/Professional looking for an opportunity to grow and develop professionally, Emerson has a great Sr. Field Engineer (Applications) opportunity for you! Based in our Houston, TX Regional location, you will be part of a team of customer support engineers who can analyze and solve engineering problems associated with the installation, start-up, and operation of relatively complex distributed control systems, sub-systems, and/or specific control equipment at Power & Water customer locations.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Develop and maintain customer relations to work directly with them to review and promote their needs for a single Ovation platform.
- Apply your highly specialized knowledge and skills in Power & Water applications to advise your team and managers, on sophisticated technical problems.
- Provide project management for all stages of a project through installation, start-up, or where it is required to supervise subcontractors.
- Project coordination and scheduling
- Lead meetings and issue meeting minutes
- Design/Review/Implement/Test power plant controls.
- Development of control system databases, controls, and graphics.
- Direct efforts of customer personnel engaged in installation of control systems, sub-systems, equipment or their routine modification/repair.
- Support installation, startup, commission activities, site walk downs, and identify cost estimates for the retrofit engineering and installation efforts.
- Provide technical direction, marketing, and field and engineering support.
- Carry out all Emerson ISO requirements.
- Conduct post project “lessons learned” on all completed projects.
- Develop specifications for third party vendors and evaluate bids from installation contractors.
- Analyze, investigate, and resolve customer warranty and policy claims.
Who You Are:
You understand the importance and interdependence of internal customer relationships. You show a tremendous amount of initiative in tough situations and are exceptional at spotting and seizing opportunities and you acquire data from multiple and diverse sources when solving problems.
For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of (5) five years’ of related experience.
- Experience working with DCS and/or PLC programming or support.
- Be able to travel up to 80% of the time.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
