We're hiring a Collateral Control Specialist to join our Team. Responsibilities Review consumer & commercial loan approval documents to identify collateral and recording requirements. Mentors, trains, and provides leadership to Collateral Control Specialist I staff members. Assigns work appropriately. Perform timely recording of collateral documents to perfect lien position with appropriate state or county office to ensure credit quality of the bank’s portfolio. Work professionally with internal and external resources related to lien perfection. Track mortgages, UCCs, vehicle titles, etc. out for recording and final title policies. Monitor and respond to rejections with issue resolutions. Input/maintain all collateral related documents in Collateral Tracking modules of Jack Henry and Salesforce/nCino. Perform daily upload of collateral documents to Synergy. Timely preparation of UCC continuations. Prepare Note and Mortgage Modifications as needed. Monitor the consumer & commercial loan exception reports; identify, track and report missing or unperfected documents for timely follow up. Monitor Vintek (vehicle title vendor) lien expirations and process accordingly. Monitor File Maintenance reports performing quality control review of system maintenance completed by collateral department to verify accuracy of updates. Provide release and/or satisfaction fees to Servicing department for loan payoff requests. Monitor and process paid consumer and commercial loans ensuring timely delivery. For commercial loans, communicate with relationship managers for direction and/or approval for collateral release. Prepare necessary mortgage satisfactions with notary function, UCC terminations, vehicle lien releases, and release of hold on deposit accounts. Monitor sold loan document requests and package documents for delivery within required timeframes; communicate with lending group for document exceptions. Perform dual control quarterly inventory of negotiable collateral. Provide collateral inquiry support for outside departments. Contact recording offices for certified copies of recorded documents as needed. Serve as secondary decision maker to Supervisor; lead special projects; provide backup for: Review of monthly recording fee invoice for accuracy and submit for payment. Review of weekly UCC Expiring Collateral Report to verify all appropriate action has been taken. Responsible for compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the position. Provide input and support to the Risk Management and Compliance teams as required. Performs additional duties as required. HOURS: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 3 to 5 years of related job experience in a loan servicing/collateral role or equivalent is required. Knowledge of collateral and lien perfection requirements and processes required. Ability to work independently and collectively within a team environment. Attention to detail and accuracy required. Effective communication and customer service skills. Advanced research and problem-solving capabilities essential. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple duties to meet deadlines. Proven self-starter with willingness to accept additional responsibilities as opportunities arise. Ability to discern inconsistencies and errors in consumer, commercial and mortgage loan documents and follow-up with required decision makers.
