Tarkett is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our successful and growing team in Middlefield, Ohio.
TARKETT is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join the team at the Ohio campus, which consists of plants in Middlefield and Chagrin Falls. This position is responsible for supporting all the campus goals and objectives through driving the WCM way, gathering data, proposing improvement activities, participating in, and leading project teams, and initiating process improvements. This position will work in collaboration with numerous departments to positively contribute to the overall WCM vision and safety culture. This position reports to the North East Ohio Continuous Improvement Senior Manager.
What this role is responsible for:
- Act as a change agent in the organization by driving change and implementing continuous improvement processes, while utilizing and improving existing methodologies.
- Collect and analyze data on plant processes, procedures, and performance using evaluation tools and make recommendations for improvement to Leadership Team.
- Analyze, develop, ratify, implement, and standardize manufacturing best practices across the network
- Gather data and analyze the current state, develop flow charts and spaghetti diagrams.
- Use WCM tools and techniques to eliminate downtime, improve safety, production, and quality.
- Coordinate priority of WCM in daily activities in plant, tracking and monitoring key performance indicator (KPI) progress.
- Monitor product and process improvement milestones to ensure on-time completion and sustainability.
- Track, Monitor, and report regularly on the status of projects.
- Translate WCM methodology into an actionable and practical strategy for implementation and integration.
- Participate in multi-functional teams to solve problems as well as partnering with production, engineering, supervision, material handling, and the shop floor associates to utilize WCM tools to identify and implement changes.
Education & Experience Desired:
Experience: Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in the implementation of operational improvement within the manufacturing
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a closely related field
Computer savvy, must be Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Green Belt/Black belt certification is preferred
SAP experience is a plus
