St. Anthony Catholic School in Washington DC is hiring a full time licensed School Counselor for the 2024-25 school year.
Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the Archdiocese of Washington
Participates in activities that develop/strengthen the understanding of the Catholic faith.
Adheres to all Federal and State laws for reporting child abuse, neglect and/or endangerment.
Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
Supports and adheres to the Code of conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese.
Abides by the Confidentiality Policy set forth in the Employee Handbook
Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other professionals.
Assists in development of student support plans.
Prepares and implements counseling program for students.
Assists students with social/emotional issues and offers referral options for outside counseling.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Practicing Catholic in good standing.
Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
Able to maintain a positive attitude while providing exemplary customer service.
Excellent listener.
Education and Experience
Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, school-based mental healthcare, or a related field.
Must have a valid state-issued certificate or license.
Must have 2-3 years of counseling experience.
Experience with administrative functions (budgeting, scheduling, institutional relationships)
Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook)
