Acute Long-Term Care Hospital

Job Summary: Performs treatments and provides educational and exercise instruction and demonstration for patients and families/significant others under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.

ACCEPTING PRN and PART TIME APPLICANTS FOR OUR GRACE PARMA/GRACE AMHERST UNITS.

Education: Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistan program.

Experience: 1 to 2 years preferred.

Other: Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the State of Ohio; BLS certification.

An exciting opportunity in a professional hospital setting assisting patients transition to inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and home care. 1. Administers individualized physical therapy programs in accordance with treatment plan as indicated by physical therapy assessment/reassessment. Educate staff, other healthcare professionals and the general community about physical therapy services on a consistent basis.
2. Provides proper supervision/guidance to support staff.
3. Develops and implement new programs/techniques to enhance facility utilization.
4. Assists supervisor in collection of statistics and updating of record keeping.
5. Instructs and supervises interns.
6. Participates in formal/informal patient reporting procedures.
7. Performs patient mobilization utilizing appropriate techniques.
8. Delivers and modifies care that is specific to the age, growth, and development of the patient.
9. Provides proper emotional/psychologic direction during patient interactions.
10. Utilizes appropriate and individualized treatment techniques/tools to promote success of established goals.
11. Documents treatment procedures accurately.
12. Provides patient care with attention to safety.
13. Performs patient transfers independently or with assistance.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
