About This Role:
UWL, a World Group company, is currently looking for a detail oriented person to join our family as a Customs House Brokerage Import Specialist! This position is hybrid and will require onsite work, but we are open to this position sitting in any of our UWL offices throughout the U.S..
The CHB Import Specialist will ensure timely and accurate transmission of information to U.S. Customs to avoid any delays due to incorrect information manifested by origin and to prevent any penalties issued by U.S. Customs. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Delivers excellent customer service
- Escalates uncommon, complex issues to the next level manager for resolution when necessary
- Tracking and tracing shipments with carriers
- ISF filings
- Pre-entry requirements
- Reviews and audits customs commercial documents
- Compiles and prepares commercial regulatory document(s) for entry processing (7501, 3461, 7512, PGA, etc.)
- Invoicing of customers
- Preparation of freight payments and OBL to carrier
- Dispatches cargo
- Confirms delivery of cargo
- Maintains customer profiles for owned accounts
- Meets minimum productivity and established KPI goals
- Meets compliance standards
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Ability to prioritize with well-developed multi-tasking skills
- Familiar with U.S. Customs information
- Previous customer service experience
- Exhibits strong attention to detail, commitment, professionalism, and sense of urgency
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn/use various computer programs
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment
