Sparks Group has partnered with the local government office of Alexandria, Virginia in their search for a talented Administrative Assistant with previous experience managing public meeting dockets! If you have experience with Granicus software or managing the dockets and agendas of public meetings we want to talk to you!
This role will be onsite at City Hall and is a contract role for three months with possibility to extend.
Responsibilities:
Manage the department or executive's calendar, scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents for the local government department.
Coordinate and manage public meeting dockets, ensuring all necessary materials are prepared and distributed on time.
Process public records requests in accordance with established procedures.
Answer phones, screen inquiries, and provide courteous and professional customer service.
Maintain office filing systems (both paper and electronic) and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of two years of administrative experience in a government or fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Previous Experience with Granicus software highly desired.
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Experience managing public meeting dockets a plus.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
