- Ensure items are priced correctly and displayed in designated showrooms accurately.
- Create, maintain, and enter product information into the retail software system as well as vendor information.
- Place purchase orders for products based on sales projections.
- Collaborate with designers, manufacturers, suppliers, and ownership to ensure a consistent and high-quality product offering.
- Input/track orders and resolve delivery issues through cross-functional communication with vendors and distribution centers.
- Maintain a close pulse on trends and customer needs to identify new assortment opportunities. Find products that deliver compelling newness and have potential to be tomorrow’s best sellers.
- Answer sales questions about products, prices, and availability.
- Recommend advertising opportunities based on inventory levels.
- Inspect damaged merchandise and make informed decisions on pricing and where to place merchandise as needed.
- Conduct monthly walkthroughs to Mathis Home and Ashley stores to obtain feedback to improve product performance/sales.
- Work closely with factory representatives to discuss sales, parts, orders, and resolve any product issues.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts.
- Assist with monthly category reporting.
- Help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs.
- Own the financial outcomes for the performance of the products placed in stores.
- Regularly assess performance and revise assortment and floor space allocation strategy as needed.
- Any other duties as directed by management.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS AS A CORPORATE MERCHANDISER: Ability to lift merchandise of 20 lbs; ability to communicate effectively with team members; positive attitude when working with customers; knowledge of employment and merchandise handling procedures. Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Driver’s license with no more than 2 traffic violations or 1 chargeable accident within the past three years.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.
Heavy Work: Lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly to move objects.
