JOB FUNCTIONS
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited to:
1. Completes the Nursing and Nutritional Assessment.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
- Assessment data will be completed within twenty-four hours of admission, as observed by chart review.
- Observe residents and abide by the emergency medical policy
- Completes documentation before completion of shift, as observed by chart review.
2. ?Performs resident care according to standards of care and the needs of the resident.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
- Identify psychiatric and medical emergencies.
- Provides educational groups to the residents.
- Completes vital signs on assigned residents at assigned times
- Completely and accurately documents medication administration, treatments, collected data, interventions, and unusual occurences, as observed by chart review.
- Administers medications as prescribed by physician.
- Performs treatments as prescribed by physician.
- Performs duties of the House Manager if assigned and qualified.
- Supervise activities of the facility when the professional staff is not on duty.
- Perform clinical duties only if licensed to do so.
- Report incidents of abuse, neglect and misappropriation to the medical director.
- Identify and respond to and report any crisis to the clinical supervisor when it occurs.
- Coordinate and consult with Practitioners and the clinical staff as needed.
3. Performs all other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
One-year experience preferred
SPECIAL SKILL, LICENSE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Current Louisiana LPN licensure
HIPAA REQUIREMENTS:
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Medical records without limitation both paper and electronic, patient demographics, lab and radiology results, patient information related to surgery or appointment schedules, medical records related to quality/data, resident financial information, resident related complaints, information related to resident location, residents religious beliefs and/or public health records.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Incident reporting, handling of wastes, sharps and linen, PPE, exposure control plans, hand washing, environment of care, resident identification, administers medications, validates residents for any procedures/surgery, and transports.
