PRIMARY FUNCTION
The HR Tech contributes to the accomplishment of HR practices and objectives that will provide a high performance customer centered culture. The Human Resources Technician assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The HR Tech carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas; payroll, employee relations, benefits, unemployment, FMLA, employee programs, recruitment and onboarding, maintenance of HRIS system(s).
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary contact for all aspects of payroll with assistance of other HR staff members.
Responsible for terminations, reclassifications, step increases utilizing the HRIS system.
Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the employee Boot Program, Fast Track program, gym reimbursement program, Xmas club. Review invoices for accuracy based on the design of each program.
Responsible for the hourly employee performance evaluation process.
Responsible for providing appropriate documentation and statistical reports for unemployment claims.
Responsible for coordination of employee events; Health Fairs, flu shots, United Way, Blood Drives and other community endeavors.
Partner with Managers and Supervisors to assist, train and resolve any issues with payroll concerns in Kronos and PlanSource.
Maintain employee records utilizing the HRIS system.
Maintain and update bulletin boards monthly with benefit information and health options.
Audit Kronos and PlanSource for accuracy and data integrity using queries and reports.
Assist with FMLA, STD, LTD and Return to Work on-site process as identified in the Leave of Absence Manual
Assist with annual Benefit presentations and schedule benefit meetings for new hires and open enrollment. Responsible for reviewing employee paperwork for accuracy and benefit data entry.
Assist employees with HR questions and concerns.
Maintain continuity with health providers.
Assist with maintaining the HR Audit Manual.
Assist with recruitment utilizing screens in iCIMS for scheduling, job simulations, phone calls, etc.
Verify New Hire data entry using iCIMS and PlanSource.
Assist with processing appropriate paperwork for grant.
Learn all Human Resources responsibilities throughout the department to support others when needed.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of a HRIS and Time Management System.
Intermediate to advanced level proficiency with Google Suites preferred.
Exceptionally strong interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills.
Strong focus on customer service required and ability to maintain confidentiality is a must.
Ability to work with very diverse groups of employees at all levels of authority.
Must have a strong professional commitment to Human Resources.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to balance several priorities from multiple sources required.
Flexibility and adaptability in dealing with rapidly changing priorities and demands necessary.
Must have a strong initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal direction/supervision.
Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to meet competing deadlines under pressure while maintaining accuracy and strong attention to detail.
Excellent follow through on commitments, using sound judgment with the ability to recognize and handle sensitive/confidential information.
Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing to comply with all safety policies and practices.
Must be willing and able to work overtime when needed.
Must be a team player with a can do attitude.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Excellent, on-site attendance and predictability a must.
DESIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma with an Associates degree preferred.
Previous payroll experience a plus
