RECREATION LEADER
HOURLY SALARY - $16.82- $17.50

RECREATION & COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT

WORK SCHEDULE
This is a non-benefited, at-will part-time position with working hours to be assigned at the discretion of the Recreation & Community Services Department. Candidates must be able to work all assigned shifts, which may include mornings, afternoons, evening shifts, and/or occasional weekends. Employee shall work up to 20 hours per week, limited up to 1000 hours per fiscal year.
THE POSITION
Under direct supervision, the Recreation Leader will be assigned to work at one of various Recreation facilities. The assigned location will be determined upon the candidates' skills and background that best relate to the needs of the departments. This position will utilize great customer service skills to carry out various assignments including but not limited to: front desk support, conduct recreational activities, special events and excursions; provide general information to the public; assist with promotional materials concerning new or ongoing programs and events; advise patrons of regulations governing the use of the recreation facilities; assist in maintenance of program equipment, files, and records in accordance with prescribed program procedures; perform some custodial duties in maintenance of recreational activities; may be required to drive to different sites and locations; may act as a group leader; assist with activity set up; and perform other related duties.
The Recreation Leader will also be responsible for the following duties when assigned to that recreation facility.
Before and After School Program (BASIC) (Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday from 6am - 6pm)
Participate in active involvement of youth on a daily basis; supervise and monitor assigned area to ensure safety and well-being of children in program; conduct recreational activities for children; assist with city wide special events and excursions; may be required to work at different sites to provide appropriate coverage; and perform other related duties as assigned.
Community Center (Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday from 7:45am - 8:15pm)
Participate in active involvement with the public on a daily basis; perform clerical duties such as handle high volume of calls and relay messages; assist the public by receiving, distributing and filing a wide variety of materials and payments in accordance with prescribed program procedures; assist with class registrations; collect fees and admissions; assist with preparing collections for audit and deposit and keep accurate records; and perform related duties as assigned.
Nutrition Assistant (Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday from 10:30am - 3pm)
Meets and gives general information to the public; assists the public by receiving, distributing, and filing a wide variety of materials in accordance with prescribed program procedures; food server to participating children; advises patrons of regulations governing the use of the recreation facilities; performs some custodial duties in maintenance of recreational areas; may act as a group leader; assist with activity set-up and performs other related duties as assigned.
Senior Center (Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday from 7am - 5pm)
Participate in active involvement of seniors on a daily basis; assist with the coordination of recreation programs including senior services, special events, and other recreational activities; assist with monthly shopping as needed; assist with city wide special events and excursions; and perform other related duties.
Sports Coach (Hours of Operation: Monday – Saturday from 3pm - 8pm)
Participate in active involvement of children and youth on a daily basis; assist in coaching flag football and basketball classes; supervise and monitor assigned area to ensure safety and well-being of children in program; assist is setting up for various program activities; maintain program equipment; enforce applicable program rules and regulations; and perform other related duties as required.
Special Event Staff (Hours of Operation and Location Vary Depending on the Event: Monday - Saturday from 7am - 11pm)
