Witmer Public Safety Group, Inc. is searching for a full time Outside Sales Runner with familiarity or hands-on experience in public safety, for our fast growing first responder equipment and supply company. Employee will load truck daily, drive to designated locations, and unload designated inventory. In addition, picks up additional inventory at designated locations and delivers to scheduled locations.
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm, mainly based out of our Abbottstown (York) location and expected to travel to surrounding states (including NJ, DE, VA, MD, WV). Some early mornings and late evenings are required based on location of the run for the day.
Candidates located in York, Lancaster, Adams, Dauphin, Cumberland counties are preferrable.
EssentialJob Responsibilities:
- Meets with Service Manager for schedule of pick-ups & deliveries.
- Transport the deliveries while adhering to determined schedule and safety standards.
- Maintain customer centric focus regarding quality and efficiency.
- Provided support to the warehouse as needed.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean and maintained at the end of each shift.
- Maintain a clean driving record and always keep safety at forefront.
- Make deliveries to site locations, sales representatives, and off-site locations when needed.
- Position is responsible for loading and securing trucks and then unloading trucks at the designated locations.
- Responsible for scanning all pick-ups in accordance with the company policy and ensuring the product is received at sight location accordingly.
- Present a positive and professional image through proper grooming and attire.
- Learn to operate and maintain DOT hydrostatic testing equipment and procedures, including detailed reporting requirements.
- Perform all necessary services on air cylinders in accordance with manufacturers.
- Compares pressure reading with specifications and company symbol on cylinder.
- Repair as well as tests various cylinders in repair shop, using hand tools hydrostatic test equipment.
- Dismantle cylinders and examine tubing, horns, head gaskets, cutter discs plus other parts for defects.
- Replace worn or damaged parts, using hand tools.
- Clean cylinders as well as recharge.
- Test Cylinders for conformity with legal specifications, using hydrostatic test equipment as scheduled.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships within the department, as well as other departments within the company.
- Complete vehicle inspections at the start and end of each shift. Submit findings to supervisor.
- Must comply with all Witmer Public Safety Group Policies & Procedures.
- Assist in other functions as needed.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have prior work experience as a driver.
- Must have a valid driver's license.?
- This position requires the individual to be able to travel daily between WPSG locations and customers sites.
- 6 months Customer Service experience.
- Knowledge in public safety fields a plus.
- Must be able to read and write.
- Willingness to Train and maintain Certifications.
- Maintain reasoning capabilities; to cope with tight deadlines; changing priorities; handle stress and maintain mature problem-solving demeanor.
- Must be willing to work overtime.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Hydrostatic Testing Certification every three years.
- Ability to maintain clean, concise records/paperwork.
- Good organizational, communication, interpersonal, time management and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with the Tri-State area and ability to read maps/directions to find unfamiliar locations, not limited to the following states: PA, NJ, DE, VA, MD, WV.
- Meet all required deadlines; change priorities quickly as needed; independently handle stress and maintain a mature problem-solving demeanor.
- Must pass a Drug Test and DOT Medical / Physical Exam (Paid by Employer).
- Good computer skills.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 70lbs.
