The Department of Psychology at Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Instructor position. This opening is for the 2024-2025 academic year and is a one-year initial appointment renewable up to a maximum of three years.
The Department of Psychology seeks masterful teachers and enthusiastic undergraduate educators who share our faculty’s passion for teaching throughout our curriculum, while creating an inclusive space, integrating diverse perspectives, and fostering cultural competency. We are looking for dedicated individuals to help engage and mentor our students inside and outside the classroom as they pursue the numerous transformative research and internship opportunities our department provides in preparation for life after Monmouth.
We are especially interested in colleagues who have a demonstrated track record of highly effective teaching, a strong desire to contribute to the department’s success through collaboration with colleagues, engagement in scholarly activities, supervision of undergraduate research, and the potential for continued growth in each of these areas.
The successful candidate will teach a 12-credit load per semester and will be required to teach up to 2 courses within our research sequence each semester, which includes Research I: Methods and Basic Data Analysis Laboratory, Research II: Behavioral Statistics and Laboratory, Research III: Experimental Methods and Laboratory and Research IV: Thesis in Psychology. They may also be asked to teach Introduction to Psychology and may have the opportunity to teach courses in their own area of specialization.
This is an in-person, on campus, non remote position.
