Job Abstract

OVERVIEW:

The janitor will maintain cleanliness of the Modesto Red Shield Corps Center and keep Corps equipment in good operating condition.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean bathrooms
• Sweep and mop all rooms
• Clean all windows
• Pick up trash around the facility
• Empty all trash cans
• Rinse and wash out trash cans
• Vacuum offices
• Help with stripping, waxing, and buffing all floors
• Set up rooms for various programs and events
• Order and organize all cleaning and janitorial supplies
• Wash interior walls
• Oversee and train volunteers
• Attend all staff training and meetings
• Assist in keeping track and ordering inventory supplies
• Other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• CA Driver License (required)
• Experience in janitorial work (1 year required)
• Experience in operating a forklift and/or pallet jack

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Great communication
• Team player
• Ability to be independent

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Relevant janitorial and maintenance equipment
