The assistant dean also works with students in the exploratory studies program as well as students in transition from one major to another. Qualifications include a knowledge of college administration, student development, and academic advising equivalent to completion of a master's degree and three to five years of related student development and academic experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive experience in academic advising grounded in best practice and research is required as well as demonstrated experience in providing support and direction to faculty advisors while fostering a community of collaboration that focuses on student success, satisfaction, retention and college completion. Experience working with students in the exploratory studies program as well as students in transition from one major to another is preferred. This is a 12-month administrative position.
