Line of Business:
The Maritime & Strategic Systems line of business has substantial focus on open architecture computing, system integration, unmanned underwater vehicles, RF sensor processing, secure computing and integrated software solutions. Our customers include the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, various government agencies, labs and international customers. The business employs over 3,000 professionals across many locations.
What We Do:
Nuclear Weapons Security (NWS) is an engineering development and sustainment business. Currently in the seventh year of being a solesource prime, they are a system integrator and sustainer of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) physical security hardware and software for mission critical high assurance environments. While NWS is primarily a 'people' business with no products on the market right now, they are working to fill a key gap in the security industry with the internal R&D project, Quorum.
Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for a controlled billet in accordance with DoD Instruction 5210.42 Personnel Reliability Program (PRP)
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required and must be obatined in a reasonable time as directed by the hiring manager. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

The Senior Advanced Engineering Technician will act as a leader and mentor to new technicians in the support of engineering activities such as designing, testing, checking-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. This may entail performing the following:
- Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces
- Performs complex system level troubleshooting to component level
- Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions
- Lays out, builds, calibrates, adjusts, installs and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems

- An Associate’s degree in related discipline or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Duties and Tasks:
- On-call and call-In status is required after normal working hours, on weekend and holidays on a rotating basis.
- Qualify NWS Electronic Security Systems within 3 months of hire, to perform preventive and corrective maintenance indoors and outdoors on sensors, cameras, and active vehicle barriers
- Qualify Cyber Security Workforce, and System Administrator to perform minor preventive and corrective maintenance on network systems to include AC&D system in secure areas.
- Some travel may be required
Workplace Options:
- This postion is fully on-site, at a DoD owned and operated facility. While on-site, you will be a part of the Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic at Naval Submarine Base, Kings Bay, Georgia
