Specific Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Revenue Accounting team, reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
• Perform advanced revenue accounting functions related to Apache domestic oil and gas properties, including but not limited to, contractual volume allocation, revenue valuation and actualization. • Handle and respond to payout audits, inquiries, and metrics. • Assist with severance tax payments, filings, inquiries, and reports. • Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to assigned properties. • Correspond with production, land, marketing, and owner relations departments to ensure proper accounting of assigned properties. • Work on special projects as requested by management. • Interface with multiple groups and individuals, both internal and external to Apache Corporation.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting; other field of study may be considered when combined with a minimum of 12 completed accounting hours. • 5+ years of professional accounting experience in the oil and gas industry preferred. • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data validation, data manipulation, data summarization, etc.). • Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, and Outlook. • Knowledge and experience with SAP a plus. • Revenue accounting knowledge and experience a plus. • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. • Proven ability to take initiative, self-manage, and work independently with high productivity. • Proven ability to interact effectively with others in a team environment. • Proven ability to effectively handle multiple assignments and changing environments.
