Posting Summary	Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a per diem Research Assistant for the department of Psychiatry at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The per diem research assistant position will assist with experiments in a preclinical neuroscience research lab (PI Dr. Morgan James). Role includes assisting with behavioral, immunohistochemical, pharmacological and molecular experiments. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Carries out behavioral testing in rodents to determine the efficacy and safety of a novel pharmaceutical for multiple indications, including binge eating disorder and substance use disorder. Carries out behavioral testing in rodents, including assays of food and drug seeking, anxiety and depression. Carries out interviews with key opinion leaders. Conducts thematic analyses of qualitative data relating to existing medications. Provides technical assistance with molecular, biochemistry, and immunohistochemistry experiments. Helps maintain records and files. Assists with the maintenance of the laboratory facilities, equipment and instruments.

Minimum Education and Experience	Undergraduate degree in a relevant science major (e.g. biological sciences, psychology, neuroscience, social work, economics or similar). One (1) year of prior laboratory experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities	Ability to read, write, speak and understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform job duties.
