Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Senior Director, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS). Reporting to the VP, Risk Management, the Sr Director, EHS will be responsible for providing leadership in developing and managing the Company’s EHS strategy and policies. This position will oversee all aspects of environmental, health, safety and loss prevention programs, including but not limited to, leading long-term safety and regulatory compliance initiatives with a focus on continuous improvement, prevention, and identification of industry trends and best practices. This position will require occasional travel.
Sr Director, Environmental Health & Safety:
- Develop and execute the Company’s EHS strategy.
- Lead efforts to develop short and long-term employee safety and Environmental improvement strategies.
- Develop and support implementation of strategic programs and initiatives that ensure facilities are in compliance with applicable safety and environmental laws and regulations.
- Act as the liaison with regulatory agencies. Develop contacts and relations with officials responsible for environmental, health & safety regulation enforcement (OSHA, PA DEP, etc.).
- Control significant loss exposures by recommending meaningful & practical interventions that will lead to reductions in injury risk exposure and workers’ compensation costs.
- Complete site safety assessments and develop action plans.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to influence facility and process related decisions that impact safety.
- Develop and implement corporate safety standards and training programs, such as new hire, hot work, chemical handling, and specific hazards.
- Lead corporate and site specific EHS teams, ensuring best practices are maintained companywide.
- Lead special projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of experience in EHS.
- Detail oriented.
- Self-starter with a proven ability to effectively prioritize projects and deliverables.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
