CDM Smith is seeking to build our team to primarily support climate resiliency and FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Assistance Program with the potential to support other related contracts with domestic and international clients. This opportunity is slated for a new professional ready to support a variety of federal climate resiliency and policy tasks under the mentorship of more senior staff. Projects may include providing technical assistance to FEMA grant programs, economic analysis, policy analysis and development, guidance development support, and data analytics to support FEMA Headquarters and Regions. Under direct supervision, performs basic consulting analyses (e.g.,: Operations improvement, human resources, organizational design, etc.) to support client business needs. Assists in the collection of client, industry relevant, and other related market data to support consulting analyses. Validates and inputs data into applicable analysis tools. Ensures accuracy of entered data and consults primary sources to clarify any issues or discrepancies, as necessary. Escalates issues as necessary. Under direct supervision, provides input and reviews basic sections of management consulting reports. Performs other duties as required. Performs basic administrative activities such as organizing meetings, writing correspondence and organizing contract and project related materials.
Roles and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: - Providing technical and/or programmatic support to FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs nationwide. - Completing research tasks and developing white papers, under the guidance of senior staff, to support FEMA's goals of equity, climate resiliency, and a prepared nation -Support development of programmatic guidance for FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs nationwide -Performing research and data analyses to develop program efficiencies. Design and create tools to implement those efficiencies, including updates to FEMA’s benefit-cost analyses toolkit. - Support facilitation of stakeholder and FEMA leadership meetings -Developing and refining outreach and communication materials -Providing technical assistance to program users Master's degree preferred. Bachelor's degree. 0 years. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
