Are you ready to make your mark? If you’re a Mechanical Engineer II, we have an exciting opportunity for you in our Aerospace – Actuation Systems Hydraulics Team!
The Mechanical Engineer II on the hydraulics team is responsible for taking a set of inputs, performing analysis, and generating, discussing, and maintaining component designs based on this analysis to release to production. They will balance customer specifications with manufacturing/cost implications and create detail designs using 2D and 3D drafting, including dimensioning and tolerancing. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and basic manufacturing knowledge. They must be able to understand technical influences on the design(s) and know the right questions to ask. The Mechanical Engineer II is technical and develops a deep understanding of how Woodward products work in customer applications. This position has an intermediate level of Customer/Supplier engagement.
What You Will Be Doing
Analyzes simple components without supervision. Hydraulic, stress and control theory analysis is typically performed.
Create detail designs using 2D and 3D drafting, including dimensioning and tolerancing. Perform linear and radial stack up studies.
Performs work which involves the use of conventional engineering practices.
Investigates products and documents findings in report format.
