Assists supervisor in overall planning, implementation and supervision of an assigned program, sport, activity, or camp.
Provide leadership and facilitation to participants.

Responsible for supervision of assigned participants.
Assist in record keeping, keeping score, daily attendance, sign in/sign out sheets, and other paperwork and reports.
Other Duties Performs other related work as assigned.

Knowledge of--
The operations of a recreation program, sport, activity, or camp.
Ability to--
Follow directions of the supervisor.
Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and others encountered in the workplace, and program participants.
Follow established program policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications (Note: Any acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted on a full-time year-for-year basis.)

Licenses or Certificates: None. CPR and First Aid (preferred)
Special Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age (18 years of age for Camp)

Physical Demands:
The work is sometimes sedentary with frequent periods of light physical activity. Typical position requires worker to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, and crouch, reach, hold, grasp and turn objects. The work requires the ability to speak normally, to use normal or aided vision and hearing. Worker may be required to demonstrate an athletic activity or physical exercise.

Additional Information:
Work hours and location may vary and are contingent upon adequate participant registration and attendance. The Department reserves the right to transfer or terminate staff when necessary. Part time employees may not exceed 1,250 hour annually.
