The Associate Product Manager supports the empowered product team with various aspects of the product development lifecycle for an existing product line, such as user research, defining user stories, prioritizing development backlog, testing prototypes, and collaborating with engineers and designers. You will also support the product launch and feedback collection by analyzing data, creating reports, and communicating with stakeholders and customers.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Product Development:

As an Associate Product Manager, you will collaborate with Product Managers and focus on working with software engineers and product designers to support the product development lifecycle by defining user stories, prioritizing the development backlog, facilitating backlog refinement meetings, demonstrating new features to stakeholders, and writing release notes. (50%)

Product Discovery & Empowered Product Team Collaboration:

As an Associate Product Manager, you will assist the empowered product team to ensure we’re building solutions that are valuable to the customer and viable for the business.  This means we need to build solutions that solve the right customer problem. Knowing what the right problems to solve are is what Product discovery is all about. Through close partnership with your empowered product team colleagues in UX and Software Development, and with both qualitative and quantitative data about your product, your customers, and your market, you’ll conduct rapid prototyping to test hypotheses and help to define the right problems to solve that generate maximum value for your customers. (25%)

Leadership & Communication:

As an Associate Product Manager, you’ll grow to become the expert in the assigned Product and will support the Product Manager in communicating with all stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Implementation, and others to ensure everyone is reminded what the core value proposition is, what the latest capabilities are, and what new and exciting features and capabilities are just around the corner. (25%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or technology, information systems or software engineering course of study or relevant experience required.
• 2 years of experience working closely with product management, or a field related to software product development.
• 2 years' experience working in a cross-functional environment.
• Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel required.
• Vision: The ability to blend business and technical savvy; a big picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality is desired.
• Communication: Ability to write in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.

This job may require domestic travel up to ~10% of the time.

This full-time, exempt position is located in Pleasanton, CA and is open to remote.

Pay

$63,500 -$121,900 / year

* Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location.
