Job Description
NBC 4 New York is looking for a self-starter with strong writing skills. Candidates must understand the power of visual storytelling. They must be well-versed on social media and understand how to gather the best video content online. They must also thrive under pressure. New York is a big breaking news market so it's important that candidates have a strong desire to deliver news as is happening.
Work closely with EPs, Show Producers, Anchors, Reporters and Assignment Editors.
Ability to write, desktop edit and gather content for all of WNBC’s platforms.
Produce under heavy deadline pressure without compromising credibility.
Understand graphic programs to visually enhance and showcase stories with production.
Use social media tools to stay on top of news events and compelling video/pictures.
Collaborate with members of the WNBC team across all platforms to ensure the most complete local news coverage is both fair and accurate. Salary range: 70k-105k
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years's experience in newsgathering and/or production.
Minimum 3 years's experience writing, producing and desktop editing systems.
Knowledge of various media platforms, including broadcast, web and mobile.
Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications or equivalent work experience. Eligibility Requirements:
Must be willing to work in New York City.
Must be able to work evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays or whenever assigned.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
Must have a valid driver's license.
