Field Manager - Flooring - Base Salary to 60k/year - Timonium, MD
Founded in 1890 and combining 5 generations of experience, our client is the destination for luxury flooring in the Mid-Atlantic area. They have been awarded “Baltimore’s Best Flooring Company”; it is their full-service commitment that sets them apart. Locally owned and family-run, they specialize in flooring and installation for both commercial and residential setting.
The Field Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of various commercial projects, simultaneously or intermittently as the case may be. The Field Manager works in partnership with the project teams and sub-contractors throughout the entire job (pre-install through post install) to make sure there is efficient allocation of materials and resources; they also strive to enhance the value of the business, ensure process efficiency and overall customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Review job with sales, project managers and estimating to discuss the job and products prior to Pre-Con meeting.
Confirm job schedule and material delivery with project teams.
Work with Foreman prior to being onsite to determine what specialty products and tools may be required.
Organize and direct manpower requirements of subcontractors based on job requirements.
Schedule sub-contractor manpower daily, weekly and monthly.
Responsible for managing the entire installation process, including punch list and project close out.
Organize and coordinate deliveries with Project Manager and Foreman.
Perform site inspections to confirm job conditions meet manufacturers specifications.
Review job with sub-contractor/installer daily.
Provide technical assistance to sub-contractor/installer by interpreting blueprints, recommending work processes and understanding product installation instructions.
Organize material, staffing and measure production (anticipate next month not just next week).
Visits job sites and check-in with GC contacts/onsite foreman
Inspect quality of installer work (adhesives and sealers are being correctly used, seaming layouts are according to plan, tile layouts are according to plan, etc.).
Coordinate with project managers on progress of all jobs. Document job site updates/progress using ProCore.
Qualifications:
3+ years of field management experience.
Expert in flooring products and techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Technical knowledge in the installation of ceramic/stone, wood, vinyl and carpet.
Strong problem-solving skills to effectively address operational issues that may impact the installation.
