Definition
This is a part-time position in the Parks and Recreation Department. An individual in this position is responsible for supervising the weight room at the Recreation and Tennis Center.
Reports to Recreation Specialist.
Examples of Work
Promote and maintain excellent public relations and customer service by responding to public inquiries, correcting problems and unforeseen issues, and communicating with customers about questions, suggestions, activities, and complaints.
Provide excellent customer service; greet and assist patrons, provide information regarding policies, procedures, programs and events; create a positive impression on members, guests, and general public through a professional and friendly demeanor.
Ensure that all Recreation and Tennis Center policies and procedures are explained to all patrons and guests; enforce rules and policies as necessary.
Open and close the weight room at scheduled times; prepare and maintain attendance reports; ensure opening and closing tasks are completed daily; maintain facility equipment and supplies.
Perform light custodial duties; re-rack weights, organize supplies and equipment, machines, and mirrors within the weight room as scheduled.
Provide patrons with knowledge on how to safely operate weight room equipment.
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
All other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, or Certification
Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application. High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate required. Minimum one (1) year work-related experience preferred. Current certification in First Aid and CPR or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire required
