We are seeking a highly skilled Stroke Program Coordinator to oversee and facilitate our stroke program. The Stroke Coordinator will be responsible for data collection, chart abstraction of stroke measures, data analysis, and reporting of program performance and goals. They will facilitate the Stroke Committee, provide education for staff, practitioners, EMS partners, and the public, and collaborate with the VCU Health System (VCUHS) Stroke team to improve program performance and patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:

Engage in data collection, chart abstraction, analysis, and reporting of stroke measures.
Facilitate the Stroke Committee meetings and collaborate with medical staff, bedside and ancillary department staff, and community partners.
Provide real-time and planned education for staff, practitioners, EMS partners, and the public.
Partner with the Stroke Medical Director, organizational leadership, and community partners to lead the stroke program effectively.
Collaborate with Data Analysts, Risk and Regulatory Readiness staff to ensure compliance with governmental and regulatory requirements.
Participate in Quality Department education and training initiatives.
Utilize clinical data analytics to drive clinical process improvement and enhance diagnostic and interventional treatment.
Develop and deliver presentations related to stroke program performance and goals.
Requirements:
Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible for licensure in a compact state.
AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in clinical data analytics, clinical process improvement, and facilitating interdisciplinary groups.
Experience in leadership within a healthcare setting and developing/making presentations.
Proficiency with personal computer and software applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and graphics.
Diploma or associate degree from a professional nursing program recognized by the corresponding state’s Board of Nursing.
All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
Experience with performance improvement processes, statistical process control tools, and data collection tools.
Previous experience working on performance improvement projects within hospital departments.
Familiarity with mapping/flowcharting software and databases (e.g., Access).
