Job Summary
The Deliveries Assistant is responsible for monitoring chute rooms, delivering soiled linen carts and empty clean exchange carts to the dock, and delivering empty soiled bins and clean linen exchange carts to the user departments. Job Details
- Receives scrubs and place in proper inventory area.
- Distributes clean uniforms while working in the uniform room.
- Answers telephone to take linen orders and processes orders according to established procedures.
- Maintains written record of orders filled and processed.
- Delivers clean linen exchange carts to hospital departments/units in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Retrieves empty clean linen exchange carts in accordance with all safety policies and procedures. Pulls cart so as to avoid injury to self or others. Stages carts for pick up.
- Delivers empty soiled linen carts to hospital departments/units in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Retrieves soiled linen in prescribed containers in accordance with all sanitary and safety policies and procedures. Pulls cart so as to avoid injury to self or others. Stages containers for pick up.
- Monitor and empty all soiled linen chute rooms.
- Maintains work area in neat, clean, safe and organized manner.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements.
- Follows hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.

Education:
- Completion of at least eighth grade.
- Ability to communicate effectively follow written and/or oral instructions as demonstrated by a grammar school education or the equivalent; ability to use care and attention in the use of equipment.

- Ability to work rapidly in a safe manner while performing routine repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.
- Ability to perform basic math addition and subtraction.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and keep written records.
