The mission:
The program provides a broad range of support services, which include network architecture, network design, network engineering, project management, implementation and deployment of new services, storage engineering, network O&M, network hardware life-cycle management, tracking and management of vendor support agreements, and software licenses, procurement of hardware/software, network end-user helpdesk support, and management of network security assessments and accreditations.
The Senior System Administrator will be responsible for supporting the availability of critical user network environments through direct technical support and collaboration on a cross-functional team spanning multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
- Implementation of baseline changes and response to change requests; support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Unix/Linux systems & Windows Systems;
- Perform technical evaluations, analysis, and troubleshooting for all supported servers; build servers by providing technical configuration, setup, installation services, hardware, and coordination of application projects; and operate and maintain servers.
- Manages the day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution of Windows and Linux systems. Activities include installing and maintaining operating systems and application patches.
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of required applications such as McAfee virus scanning tools, system event logging and auditing, configuration management tools, system health and monitoring tools, and IAVA compliance patching
- Optimizes system operations and resource utilization, performs system capacity analysis and planning and implements operating systems enhancements to improve availability.
- Attend TEMs to discuss and agree upon MOAs –ensure MOA is within the scope of the server team’s work.
- Support the customer in developing a dedicated server build report and an internal build report.
- Create and/or update the Asset Management record—responsible for integrity of asset management record. Ensure build report (procedure) is feasible, clear, and concise.

- Provide direct support in designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining Microsoft Windows-based systems, Unix/Linux systems, MacOS, virtualized environments, and utilizing a broad range of software applications. A minimum of 8 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Microsoft Windows desktop and server design, configuration, and maintenance in a secure IT environment, including one or more of Windows 7, Windows I0, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016
- Direct experience in designing and operating Microsoft Active Directory in a secure and distributed IT environment supporting clients and servers such as Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016
- Macintosh devices design, configuration, and maintenance in a secure IT environment.
- Direct experience in the administration of Linux desktops, servers, and other devices designed, configured, and maintained in a secure IT environment.
- Configuration and operation of Enterprise storage across network (SAN) solutions (e.g. HPE 3PAR, NetApp, EMC)
- Direct experience in the design, configuration, and maintenance of server virtualization solutions using software such as VMWare vSphere, Windows Hyper-V, or equivalent.
- VOIP solution design, configuration, and maintenance with Cisco, Polycom, or equivalent solutions.
- VTC solution design, configuration, and maintenance with Cisco, Polycom, or equivalent solutions.
- Installation and maintenance of the preceding technologies at multiple distributed locations.
Clearance Required:
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent; A Master’s degree in a relevant field will meet the educational requirement if a Bachelor’s degree is not in a relevant field. Equivalent experience may be substituted for a BS to meet the educational requirement.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience. Equivalent experience for a Bachelor of Science degree (Computer Science, IT, or equivalent technical discipline) can be substituted by four (4) years of experience in a relevant field in the respective discipline. ?Consequently, the Senior skill level shall require 12 years of relevant experience if the experience is referenced in place of a bachelor’s degree.
Minimum Years of Experience:
- The candidate shall have at least eight (8) years of experience providing support in the respective disciplines.
Preferred:
- Experience configuring and operating enterprise storage across networks (SAN)
- Server visualization - design solutions and configuration (VMWare, VSphere, Hyper-V, etc)
- Experience with Rapid 7 and NMAP
- Experience with SolarWinds and RSA deployments.
- Experience with Splunk Administration
- Experience configuring and maintaining Cisco routers and firewalls
