Posting Summary | Rutgers The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Director of Administration for the departments of Neurology and Psychiatry at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Primarily responsible to develop, implement, direct and provide overall management of the administrative infrastructure for a complex and widely dispersed academic department to ensure support to the chairs’ academic, research and clinical programs, whether university or hospital based. Scope of position requires administrative leadership in general administration, financial management, organizational development, labor relations, marketing, operations management, information systems management, and overall policy and procedure development and implementation. Overarching responsibility is ensuring the departments’ very best selection and use of resources for maintaining and developing departments’ programs.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: - Develops, implements and constantly renews and refreshes overall administrative program to support the program objectives of the chairs.
- Develops, implements and manages annual departmental budgets including clinical, academic and research components to support the objectives of the departments. Provides overall ·guidance for all departmental/divisional major procurement decisions and ongoing spending policies to meet budgetary objectives.
- Provides administrative directions and leadership for support staff at six (6) locations.
- Encourages, fosters and requires development of standardized administrative practice throughout the departments with satellite practices.
- Develops and ensures implementation of overall clinical practice process standards and objectives.
- Works with chairs to refine practice incentive programs to best fit departmental programmatic goals.
- Develops and implements physician productivity monitoring systems.
- Develops and manages departments’ administrative organization to maintain best fit of resources and environmental demands.
