McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking 3 full-time Process Technicians for 109, 501 & Landmark lines. This new hire will work in Hunt Valley PLant, located in Hunt Valley, MD. The Process Technician will report to a Process Engineer.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Reporting to the Process Engineer, this position is responsible for the development, improvement, and adherence to manufacturing processes on the floor. This position includes 70% of all time spent on the floor to learn the manufacturing lines, provide live training and support to production teams, and identify process reliability (PR) opportunities. Each Process Technician will be assigned to a specific plant initiative. These initiatives are subject to change over time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Continuous Improvement
- Collect and analyze line performance data to generate cost justifications for line improvements.
- Ideate potential process improvements and work in partnership with the area’s Process Engineer to align on path forward.
- Coordinate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities and Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) activities while participating in cross-functional team meetings.
- Adhere to the defined change management process to ensure that all change proposals are thoroughly investigated and vetted prior to implementation.
- Processes and Documentation
- Create, maintain, and improve process documentation to support plant needs, including but not limited to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Alternative Control Procedures (ACP’s), Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) documentation, Job Safety Analyses (JSA’s), Breakdown Analyses (BDA’s), CIL’s, centerlines, startup/shutdown checklists, changeover checklists, Job Aids, One Point Lessons (OPL’s), Troubleshooting Guides (TSG’s) etc.
- Training and Leadership
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the manufacturing line (as needed) and provide live support and training to technicians who are experiencing issues while running equipment.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on CI/JTE systems and assigned production areas while providing live support and training to technicians within the scope of one’s assigned initiative as needed.
- Provide training to technicians and Crew Leaders regarding new and updated procedures.
- Partner with Technician IV/V’s across shifts to provide comprehensive training on knowledge gaps, procedural changes, and process improvements.
- Provide support and perform other duties as required by business needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of packaging and production experience.
- Acceptable attendance.
- Meets standards in overall performance rating in most recent performance review.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and correct problems on a variety of equipment.
- Strong analytical ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn new software as needed to support business needs.
- Proven ability to train and lead others.
- Ability to work alternate shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as required by business needs.
- Ability to work cross functionally in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form.
- Demonstrated process improvement ability and leadership skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in Power BI, SAP, TrakSYS, and other Shop Floor systems.
- Proficiency manipulating large data sets and using PivotTables in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge and experience with TPM.
