Production Manager – Manufacturing - Base Salary to 125k/year - Shelton, CT
Our client, a world-leading manufacturer renowned for its highly successful technology-based products globally, with over 100 years of industry presence, is currently seeking a Production Manager to join their team in Shelton, CT.
The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing production workflows, material procurement, and equipment assembly and testing, collaborating closely with the team to coordinate schedules, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, and maintain smooth production flows. Applicants should demonstrate prior experience specifically within a CNC setting, indicating familiarity with operating and managing CNC machinery and processes.
Responsibilities:
Manage a dynamic team of CNC and manual machinists, machinery assemblers, and production office staff.
Foster a collaborative environment emphasizing efficiency, quality, and productivity.
Organize and supervise production workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Assign daily work orders to optimize resource utilization, including workforce capacities and equipment availability.
Lead end-to-end supply chain management from procurement to equipment assembly and testing, applying Lean Manufacturing principles.
Plan, coordinate, and direct production activities to ensure on-time shipment of high-quality parts.
Oversee production planning, scheduling, and purchasing functions, managing internal work and raw material ordering.
Ensure cost-efficient production management while meeting quality standards and delivery dates.
Address production problems and collaborate with design engineers to enhance manufacturability.
Analyze plant workflow to improve manufacturing efficiency and implement monitoring mechanisms.
Minimize downtime by coordinating maintenance services and adhering to maintenance schedules.
Develop employees' skills and prepare them for future assignments.
Ensure manufacturing processes comply with ISO 9001-2015 and Environmental, Health & Safety requirements.
Support quality assurance and initiate scrap and waste reduction initiatives.
Qualifications:
5+ years of supervisory experience within CNC machining manufacturing.
Proficient in manufacturing machinery, processes, ANSI Y14.5 GD&T, and familiar with Lean Manufacturing principles.
Prior experience with CNC programming, CAD-CAM, and MRP systems advantageous.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards and ability to lead and motivate production personnel.
Ability to utilize MRP systems effectively to meet customer delivery requirements.
